CAVE OF WONDER

 

The Cave of Wonder: That was the day that my heart exploded with color over one of my favorite natural wonders in Los Angeles, the Vanalden Caves. Apparently, if I've fallen in love with you I've taken you here. I have a list of secret places in Los Angeles that are just pieces of my heart and this time I decided to give it away to everyone.

Inspo behind the idea of The Cave of Wonder: People have been coming here for years amazed of the formation of the sandstone and the carvings that the artists had made on the walls. Every person I have brought here is literally in a sense of wonder and quite actually stunned by this place and its beauty. Whenever I come  I always give credit where its due and a friend who's close to my heart who I brought to the cave and saw the vision.  This installation was a gift to him for all that he is, for all that he continues to be, and all that he will be. You gave me life.

Materials Used: 60 ft of multi colored glitter dipped mesh fabric curtsey of Penguin Textiles, adhesive butterflies, bells, and thank you notes adorned with thank you's. I used multi color fabric drenched with glitter because thats basically my inner heart - adhered butterflies because all of the butterflies I'd always try to catch- attached gold notes of appreciation and last but not least gold bells for peace of mind.
